Recycling

Recyclable materials will be picked up on the same day as your curbside trash service.

Receptacles

All recycling receptacles are provided free of charge. Small red recycling bins may be picked up at the Utility Billing Office. Large 65 gallon recycling carts are also available. Complete an online order form for a 65 gallon recycling cart.

Acceptable Items



Glass

All glass food and drink containers or jars are accepted (colored or clear). Please rinse containers out and disregard caps. Paper labels do not need to be removed.

Metal Cans

Aluminum and bi-metal beverage cans, steel soup and food cans, and empty aerosol cans are accepted. Please rinse, drain and crush cans (when possible), and remove plastic aerosol caps. Labels do not need to be removed.

Paper Products

Place newspapers, magazines, junk mail, mixed office paper, paper grocery bags, cereal boxes, catalogs and telephone books in a brown paper grocery sack (no plastic bags, please), then place inside bin. In case of rain, place the bag containing the paper products under the bin. Boxes to be recycled should be flattened, and corrugated cardboard should be cut to a size no larger than three feet by three feet.

Plastics

Plastic milk containers, soft drink bottles, detergent bottles, shampoo bottles will be accepted. Please remove all caps and lids, rinse out, and crush the container. Labels do not need to be removed.

Unacceptable Materials

  • Coat hangers or scrap metal
  • Medical sharps or syringes
  • Plastic bags
  • Plastics that are not bottles or jugs
  • Styrofoam
  • Window or drinking glass
