The City of Fairfield Parks and Recreation Department proudly presents…

The fireworks weren't the only thing people came to see at Village Green during Red, White & Kaboom on July 3rd. Morgan Curtner and Leslie Bowen, the two finalists of Fairfield Idol, each had amazing performances as part of the pre-show entertainment for Rozzi's Famous Fireworks. The evening started with a special performance from 2007 Fairfield Idol winner Shelby McDaniel, who also performed the national anthem leading up to the fireworks.

2008 Fairfield Idol Winner: Morgan Curtner

After tabulating the voting from the crowd and the judges, Morgan Curtner was announced as the winner of Fairfield Idol 2008, continuing the female dominance in the local talent contest. Bowen was only the second male finalist in the five years of Fairfield Idol. Curtner will take home a prize pack featuring studio time at Moonlight Studios and a $500 gift card.

Congratulations to both finalists for the many amazing performances throughout the duration of this year's contest. Many thanks also to the many contestants that came out for Fairfield Idol this year, we hope to see you back in 2009 for another great Fairfield Idol contest.  

2007 Fairfield Idol Winner: Shelby McDaniel

Shelby McDaniel faced Fairfield Idol veteran and two-time finalist Kyla Mainous in the Final Round at the Red, White & Kaboom festivities on July 3 at Village Green Park.  By the time Rozzi's Famous Fireworks were lighting up the skies above Fairfield, McDaniel was celebrating her new title with her family and friends who came out to see her perform.  For Kyla Mainous, it was her second straight year finishing as runner-up in her fourth year of participation in Fairfield Idol.  The Final night of the 2007 Fairfield Idol competition also included performances from previous Fairfield Idol winners Ashley Brandenburg (2005) and Shelby Lutz (2006).
