FurField grand opening Oct 12

The City's new dog park - FurField - is almost ready for visitors and the grand opening will be Saturday, Oct. 12!  Bring your dogs, your kids, your neighbors, your friends, your family, your co-workers and your acquaintances to the City's much-anticipated, long-awaited new dog park! 

The park is located at 6611 River Road. Guests are asked to observe special parking areas and pedestrian entrances Dog Park Grand Opening Parking v2for the opening. No parking will be available in the dog park for this event, but will be available in surrounding residential areas and at Marsh Park Lake and the adjoining property at River and Gray Roads. Guests who are not bringing pets are asked to park at Marsh Park Lake where they will have access to a shuttle service. Police Officers will be helping with traffic and parking. 

This newest Fairfield City park features 6.5 acres and an 800 square foot pond with a dock and zero-entry edge. It has multiple play fields with a separate small dog play area as well as shaded gathering spaces and plentiful parking. In the future, the park is slated to be a trailhead for the Great Miami River Trail. FurField is located on River Road between Lake Circle Drive and Gray Road adjacent to Martin Marietta’s quarry lake.

Land for the park was purchased from Martin Marietta with a Clean Ohio Grant from the State of Ohio. Construction began last fall. For more information, visit www.fairfieldoh.gov/Dog-Park-Trailhead
