The recognition is officially called the “Auditor of State” award and is presented to local governments and school districts upon the completion of a financial audit. To receive this recognition, audited entities must meet several criteria. Criteria includes timely reports in accordance with General Accepted Accounting Principles and no findings for recovery, material citations or weaknesses, significant deficiencies, late single audit or questioned costs. Mary Hopton, Finance Director, also received an award with distinction for the City’s 2016 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report.
