Responsibilities

As Public Utilities Superintendent, Field Division, Matt directs the operation and maintenance of the City's Water Distribution System and Wastewater Collection System.  The Water Distribution System consists of approximately 190 miles of public water main and the Collection System consists of approximately 175 miles of public sewer main. Matt’s primary objective is to provide the 14,400 commercial and residential customers of Fairfield Public Utilities with safe and reliable utility services. 
 

Background

Matt began his career in the utility field in 1996 as a project manager for a locally owned utility construction company.  After 14 years of managing traditional and trenchless utility installations, Matt was hired by the City’s Public Works Department as a Construction Inspector.  In 2019, Matt was promoted to Superintendent in the Public Utilities Department due to his strong foundation in utility construction management.  
 
 Matt possesses Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Class II licenses in both Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection.  Matt is a member of the Ohio Rural Water Association (ORWA) and the Water Environment Federation (WEF). 
 

Personal Interests/Family

Matt lives in Ross Township with his wife and daughter and has one adult aged son who lives in the Cincinnati area.  Matt enjoys traveling, being outdoors, and attending sporting events with his family.
