Discard Day is an annual event designed to provide City of Fairfield residents with a convenient way to discard, recycle, and properly dispose of unwanted items, all in one location on one day! 

A huge thank you to all of the volunteers that worked hard to make Discard Day 2025 a success! 

In total, around 600 vehicles delivered materials to the event for recycling and responsible disposal. City staff and resident volunteers helped to unload vehicles to collect over 10 dumpsters of recyclable materials including: E-waste, household appliances and scrap metal; and over 8 dumpsters of bulk trash.
