Overview
Each year the City of Fairfield’s Finance Department issues an annual comprehensive financial report. This report represents and reflects upon the city’s financial operations and condition to the city’s residents, its elected officials, management personnel, financial institutions, city bondholders, rating agencies and all other parties interested in the financial affairs of the city. Fairfield continues to receive the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting issued by the Government Finance Officers Association.
The State of Ohio requires an annual audit by either the Auditor of the State or by an independent public accounting firm. The State Auditor’s Office has completed an audit of the financial statements and their opinion is included in the financial section of the report.

Awards
The GFOA established the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting Program (COA) in 1945 to encourage and assist state and local governments to go beyond the minimum requirements of generally accepted accounting principles to prepare annual comprehensive financial reports that evidence the spirit of transparency and full disclosure and then to recognize individual governments that succeed in achieving that goal. The City of Fairfield is proud to be recognized again for its 2021 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report.
