Popular Annual Financial Report

2022_PAFR Opens in new windowOverview

The Department of Finance is proud to present the City of Fairfield’s Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR). The PAFR summarizes the City’s financial activities from a more detailed report called the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR). The ACFR contains financial statements prepared in conformance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and is audited by an independent auditing firm.

The City of Fairfield’s PAFR is unaudited and presented on a GAAP basis unless otherwise noted. The purpose of the PAFR is to provide summarized financial data as a means of increasing awareness and knowledge of the operations of the City. We believe our citizens deserve transparency when it comes to their tax dollars. This report is designed to help you gain a better understanding of the City’s resources and how we put your tax dollars to use.

Awards

The GFOA established the Popular Annual Financial Reporting Awards Program (PAFR Program) in 1991 to encourage and assist state and local governments to extract information from their annual comprehensive financial report to produce high quality popular annual financial reports specifically designed to be readily accessible and easily understandable to the general public and other interested parties without a background in public finance and then to recognize individual governments that are successful in achieving that goal. The City of Fairfield is proud to be recognized again for its 2021 Popular Annual Financial Report.
